I watched on-line the April 30 press conference in front of the
Capitol at which you spoke. It is good to zero in public attention
that whatever symbolic initiatives the Congress makes, only the
removal of Bush and Cheney from office can in fact end the war
on Iraq. I believe it is also crucial to always include Bush and
Cheney together in any impeachment resolution and to emphasize
their actual removal from office as the point of the action.

Dennis Kucinich’s positions are by far the best of any candidate.
As Bill Maher said when Dennis appeared on his program recently,
they correspond to what the majority of the Party’s members want the Democrats to stand for. But the current leadership and the mainstream media do not want this truth to come out.
The way Dennis can bypass their blockage affordably is to go to the people directly through half hour and longer programs, as Ross Perot did very successfully in 1992. Air time on UHF is very cheap, for example, under $3000 per hour for early Sunday evening, to reach five million homes in Los Angeles or New York. The public will respond with donations that can fund additional well-promoted broadcasts edited from live events.

U.S. Social Forum: I would like to work with you and the other event organizers on a specific plan to bring the messages of the assemblage to mass audiences nationally and globally during its run, and then put together a summary television program for broadcasts in Atlanta and other municipalities shortly afterwards.

The key factor is to align already available elements into a functional whole producing an envisioned result. Many volunteer videographers will be attending and recording the Forum. Perhaps you will even arrange for wide screen multi-camera projection of the most important happenings in large venues. I would recommend, based on my participation and observation of hundreds of grass roots convocations, that you also consider integrating all of these productions, raising funds to edit and transmit daily highlights, and secure sponsors for a well-promoted full length TV show to air one monthafter the fact.

UN TV - How NGOs Can Reach Mass Audiences Through Sponsored U.N. TV Programs

The following proposal elaborates a strategy for developing a deeper base of public knowledge about the United Nations. U.N. supporting non-governmental organizations can co-sponsor one hour of U.N.-related and civil society-affirming programs weekly in the early evenings on regional TV outlets. Targeted promotion and advertising will draw large audiences.

The United Nations Department of Public Information and U.N. Television together produce hours of programming every week, which they make available free to broadcasters around the world. Many stations abroad telecast these shows to vast numbers. Only one country’s media virtually never airs any of this material... the United States.
